lol Evo coupe = 96 Eclipse GSX. I keep thinking about Mitsu and RWD but for some reason in my head they don't go together. Like Honda making another RWD besides the S2. It sounds weird......I say Mitsu aims at Mazda's Miata first and work their way up. Mitsu making a RWD would be nice but that's the same as Subie making a RWD....it'd be weird. Good but...weird.. lol

BRING ON THE GSX!!

You guys can forget RWD from Mitsubishi. If there was ever a chance, they would have considered it when designing their next generation Eclipse. We know where they decided to go with that. It was much more logical for them to go with FWD... and enthusiasts and journalists alike acknowledge they did a superb job at it.

As far as trucks and SUVs are concerned, in the US there is a strong segment of market to be tapped into... and in Europe, it's now been trendy for a couple of years to own an SUV (to my personnal dismay).

And BTW, no I don't think we'll ever see the Sportback again in this market... and I still think it's a shame and Mitsubishi messed up big time with the tranny decision. I'm quite sure it would have sold very well with the short-throw 5sp...

My son's seat is a 5 point harness... I told him he's got a racing seat and now he tells that to everyone at kindergarden.

Did you really worry about that? You know that Mitsubishi is one of the biggest corporations in the world, right? MMC is just a small division... and the bigger divisions were not about to let a part of the company go under. They massively invested in MMC to keep it afloat during revitalization. It's surely gonna pay off in the long term anyway...

We were never even close to being in the same boat as Daewoo owners... who by the way can still get parts for their cars.
