Unhappy Moved Up in the World!!

I stopped off at my dealer saturday to see if they had any Ralliarts in stock. I'm seriously thinking about making a jump from my ES to RA after he said most lancer es sell like hot cakes there. A new 06' will be in early september and he is going to keep me updated on the new features. Maybe if they pay off most of the car on a trade in I'll make the swap.

If its worth it that is.... another year of waiting for parts and the extra 10k is a big downfall for me right now.

Performane wise it is a step up. However the base model lancer does have some positives. Also you have to consider your payment situation.

I'm pretty much thinking the same thing as well, I wanna trade my ES for a RA as well, but I dunno if I can afford it right now, too much debt to pay off as it is. If the stealership can make me a deal I can't refuse, then maybe.

Im sure if he started out with an ES, I doubt he will have the dough for a brand new Evo. He could get a used evo, but buying a used EVO is like buying a used rental car, cause its been ridden hard more than likely. Ralliart is definitely a step up. I test drove an oz and there is seriously a night and day difference.

Lol, you got that one right on the head. Theres no way I can afford an Evo, not because the payment would be to high but the insurance...the insurance would absolutely kill. I pay around $180/month for the ES with no accidents, no moving violations, in 6 years of driving, and theres no way i could get it any cheaper than currently(multiple driver discounts, house ins discount). If I called up and asked how much it would cost for an Evo I think they would laugh at me.

Eh dont feel bad, I got a quote (i have two VERY bad accidents on my record, totalled my old turbocharged civic and I flipped a brand new windstar when I hit the lady) for my insurance if i got an evo, 900 a month! But back on topic. A RA is a VERY nice upgrade.

You do have a point, there most likely is a better car in the price range for the money. I want to trade up for multiple reasons but it probibly isn't the smartest thing financially to do, but screw it..i'll be in debt for the rest of my life, why not have fun while im at it

i test drove an automatic ES and was embarrassed to drive it. I was instantly set on getting RA. I couldnt pass up 16k either.
