Which forum for Australian VRX Wagon do we use?

Hi Everyone from down under in Australia

I don't want to seem stupid but i am having trouble finding any forums for the VRX Lancer wagon's ??

I think that in America you call them the Ralliart Sportback wagons and they are equipped with a 2.4 lt and only available in Auto?

In Australia we call them the VRX Lancer Wagon and they only come in a 2.00 lt with manual or auto.

In Britian they are called the Estate wagons and come in a 1.6 lt ??? or 2.00 lt??

So do these owners use the ralliart general forums or does a seperate forum exist for them??

In Australia these vehicles are rare and not promoted at all by Mitsubishi, which is a pity because they are quite a good vehicle, i have modified mine with suspension and wheel and exhaust mods. But as they are a limited run and will probalby be discontinued in Australia in 2005, i am finding that any info or forums with owners of these vehicles are hard to locate.

i love the looks i get while driving as most people don't have a bloody clue what the car is, most think it is some new model Euro Volvo or similar!

If anyone has any pics of the American Ralliart Sportback wagons or the English model which they could email me, it would be appreciated, especially the rear section as it seems a bit different in some pics to other countries?

Thanks

VRX Sportback

That all depends what motor you have in yours. I believe you got the American styled Ralliart Sportback, but if you have the 2.0L in there, I do believe it might be the 4G94 and not any 4G6x variant. Because you say that in Britain they come with the 1.6L lends me to believe that they are the 4G9x motor.

So depending on your motive would depend on what forum you hit. I dont see many Sportbacks in here though. But if you are doing engine stuff, then the Lancer section is the right area for you, but if you are doing cosmetic stuff, I guess this would be the right area, even though there is a lack of Sportback owners.

Hello VRXSportback! Welcome to the EvoM Boards! There are about 10 to 20 Sportback owners in this forums. Down here in Puerto Rico there are many happy Sportback (both LS and RalliArt) owners. I can almost see another one daily (we are only a 100x35 miles island ) but in the mainland USA there are really rare to see them daily. What colors did you have the wagon down there? Specs? Are there any aftermarket parts for it? Did any of the mitsus use the 4G69 down there? Did you got the Ralliart version of the Lancer car?

If you want to see some pics of the USA spec wagon go to the Evom registry. Thera are pics of 4 Ralliart sportbacks and 1 LS too!

Here is the link for the Ralliarts Sportbacks:

Yeah, the Lancer VRX is basically the equivlant to our Ralliart model, so I'd say you're in the right place!

Thanks guys

I noticed a few diffences between the US model and the aust model Sportback wagons

!/ you have side clearance lights in the rear bumper

2/On the US model you gat a rear spoiler on the back bumper, the australian models don't have one factory fitted or is one available thru spare parts.

I think i will buy a sedan version and adapt it to the wagon, i assume the only difference will be the lenght at the sides from rear wheel arch to the back corner ???

Does anyone know if the sedan rear bumper spoiler/skirt will fit the rear bumper on a sportback wagon ????

No aftermarket body kit suppliers in australia are making any aftermarket kits fot the sportback wagon, it must be a case of not enough demand??

Thanks

You are right, the Australian version has the 4G94 motor in all its lancer models including the VRX.

They tell me that the Chrysler PT Cruisers coming to Aust this year will be using a U.S manufactured motor from the Lancer ????

Thanks
