weak motor mounts

pretty simple story, driving down the road to get my wife some taco bell, hit a pot hole, a big one, now i think the motor mount is broke. it was dark, rainy, and very windy, seeing how a typhoon just passed over us. this sucks, dealership can take me in for servicing until the 13th. probably gonna buy some aftermarket motor mounts now. we'll see.

Get in there and have a closer look at it. A motor mount seems like a strange thing to break on a pothole. I'd make sure you didn't take out an suspension components.

Yes that what I think too, a motor mount usually goes after repeated launches or something of that nature not a pothole.

What kind of problems are you having with the car?

well, when i start it up, the motor shakes. and if i do launch, there's a really loud knocking sound, wheel hop, an no traction. so i'm pretty much taking it easy until the dealership takes a look at it.

It does sound like a motor mount issue then... But that dealer of yours is sh*tty though! Can you get the car serviced somewhere else?

BTW: Why does everybody seems to be in Guam on this board these days?

negative, there is a couple of oz rallys that have put the altezzas and badge on and people think they are ralliarts. lol. but the most common car you will see is integras. there has to be like a billion integras here on guam. and only a handful are fast. most are just pieces of junk.

How much does it shake? A couple inches is fine, any more and it could be a mount.

i just installed the RRM motor mounts yesterday... if your thinking about buying them, then get them ASAP if u have some mods to your car (especially clutch) my engine dont move AT ALL when racing, shifting gears is ten times smoothing (regular driving and racing) and it seems i can bang out much better... everything good bout this mod instead of the vibration my car has when im idle or at a redlite or something, but even thats tolorable. I actually like the vibration, makes it feel more like a "racecar" and i jst tell passangers its my new "massaging seats"

100 dollar install ... took 2 hours including "smoke" breaks... we had a lift so it was easy. cost 289 at RRM but you can do it yourself... its in the forums somewhere... if you have a clutch you need this mod . period. if you dont, but u just race your car alot, then you need this also.

***update***

***UPDATE***

took the ra to the dealership and looks like i need a tranny part. not sure what part. they talked to my wife not me. said it was gonna take 3 weeks to get it shipped here to guam. guam sucks. so i'll be driving a temporary car. not sure what yet. weird huh, that a tranny part broke instead of something else. oh well, that's what a warranty is for.

the other day i went out with some friends, one of my friends just got a TC. TCs are starting to be come pestering flys here. everywhere you look, you see one. unfortunately, he thought he was dominate to me. so i had to hand him his azz, haha. pretty dumb, those cars aren't even that fast. it's retarded. what was toyota thinking, that car is stupid too replace the celica. just thought i'd mention that.

peace, brad

You drove a Focus for two months just because the dealer was waiting on a part?!!??! What is it?!? Is it handcrafted by monks in tibet and has to be shipped by foot... oh, and maybe the mountain pass is not openned the whole year?!?
