Locked out - Diamond Care something else

I managed to do the impossible today, lock myself out of the RA, when I was leaving to goto work today.

I was at my gfs house, 45mins from home, when I went outside to warm up the car. I unlocked all the doors with the remote, put all my crap in the back seat and went around to start it up. When I started it up I don't remember hitting the lock button, or even going near the controls on the door so I have no clue how it was locked. After I went inside to say bye and came back out, sure enought, it was locked. I've only done this 1 time b4 in my life.

I remembered I have Roadside assistance, which I called every 5mins for 30mins with no luck. I called back to talk to customer care, they didn't open for another 2 hours because of the time zone. When they opened I talked to them and even they couldn't get a hold of them. Fortunately I am lucky enough to have someone from my house that was willing to spend 1.5hours driving there and back with my keys, but it figures that the one time I needed it I couldn't use it. I guess I can't complain too much as it is a free service(but probibly figured into the cost of the car anyway), but what good would it be if next time I break down and they don't answer.

Has anyone dealt with Diamond Care before?

No, and probably wouldn't. I have AAA.

This is why AAA is worth the $30 or so a year.

i've done the same thing. My alarm automatically locks the doors after a few seconds of starting the engine. I left the door open, then jumped out and closed the door and of course it locked. CAA came in less than 1/2hour. Definately worth it, i'll probably never use the mitsubishi emerg road side assistance.

Well I didn't ever think I'd need AAA when I have Diamond Star Roadside Assistance, which is supposed to be the same thing.

should be 24/7; that part you are saying about offices not opening for 2 hours because of the time zone doesn't make sense. Were you calling the number on the card? 888-648-7820

I was trying the office because the Roadside Assistance wouldn't pick up.

I pay the extra for the "Plus" membership. It's saved my @ss a few times when my old cars broke down 50+ miles from home. In the first 6 months of '04, AAA towed me home 3 times, the shortest tow was 25 miles, the longest closer to 80. I definitely got my money's worth out of them that year.

I had the AAA before I got my RA, and kept it because it covers me in any vehicle, even if I'm not driving. It doesn't have to be my car.

I might have to look into that. Hey, do you know what you want to do about your exhaust yet?

My alarm automatically locks the doors too... sometimes I leave my door open while I start up my car and then start to close it... then I remember that it is locked and don't close it... some really close calls before though...

That would drive me nuts. I had an alarm like that on my old GSX for a very short while. The auto-locking feature annoyed me so much I pulled the alarm completely out.

EDIT: And no, I haven't decided what I want to do as far as exhaust, yet. Whatever I do, I don't want a loud exhaust like I had on my GSX. That was just a 3" straight pipe, though. The neighbors told me they could hear me coming from over 3/4 mile away, and as I was leaving, they'd hear when I let off to slow down before the stop sign at the far end of the road, almost 3 miles away. That was fun, but I don't think I'll be doing that again.

That is damn loud man! Well if you want the stock exhaust let me know, I just hit 3800miles today. I'm think about a new setup soon here, something for turbo but like you I don't want it to be loud at all.
