question about ralliart
No way to know insurance without going to go quotes for your specific information. Search the RA general forum for a thread with insurance in the subject line, it'll have just about everyone's insurance premium in it.

I say the same as everyone else for snow. Get yourself those good winter tires and you're golden. I find it heats up considerably quick too. And still manages to turn over in -45C weather without being plugged in! (only had to do that once though...thank god!)

But in all seriousness, the ralliart was a great car, I just couldn't afford the insurance difference and monthly payments.
Well, I know our side impact rating isn't the best, but you can get airbags all over the place (driver, passenger and front/side) as well as reinforced doors, crumple zones, that freaky engine drop feature and whatnot, it seems like Mitsu put some thought into safety... maybe not as much as say Volvo, but still not bad.
Of course, the best safely feature is sensible driving.

Here's a link talking about the problems with side impact on most major compact cars...

Yeah. The Lancer didn't score so hot.

It doesn't sound like they tested with the side airbags

i saw the program where they tested the side impact crash. The car was not equipped with side aibags, its was a lancer ES that was tested. With the side airbags it scores a greater rating and it passes the insurance test and does not fail like without the airbags. I think it was 20/20 or dateline
I am 23 married and a three yearold and my daughter loves the car. she loves it when I burn the tires in it. I think it is a very cool car to have when you have a kid. Oh yeah very good on insurance and actually on automotive news geico and allstate is lowering their insurance by 5% and some others are going to lower to. So that is something to look forward to.
