i have an auto 04 ralliart and ive been seeing CAI's that say for "manual trans only," does it really matter if you put a CAI for a manual car in an auto? i dont really see a difference unless it has to do with engine space.

This has been covered numerously. The tranny will get in the way so a cai made for a 5 speed will not fit one for an auto.
