I will agree with you there. Belkin, Griffin, and a few other companies that make acc. for the iPod are total crap. Especially Belkin, the static noise over the iPod is pathetic. Of course, from what I've seen, the items I speak of aren't quite the same as what this thread is about.

I like the idea of an fm transmitter but my own experience has been that I just wasnt satisfied with the sound quality. Of course mines an aftermarket setup but I went with the Alpine 420-i, which recharges my ipod (40 gig) and allows me to control the ipod from the deck, so I can keep the ipod itself stuffed away in the center console out of sight and mind.

The only reason you think ipods are evil would be because:
a) you bought a cheap imposter and are insanely jealous
b) you never owned an ipod and are hoping that talking about them will make you as cool as someone who does own one
c) you think all things in this life are evil and are probably just joking.
d) you smashed your cat on the keyboard and it just happened to type that out accidently.

I see several iPods come in daily with failing HDDs and dead batteries, all of them less than 6 months off the shelf. Even so, I'm sure all of these units were mistreated. I still plan on getting one for my RA to plug into my pioneer head unit.
