"on the side skirts .the automatics comes with the cc. do your manual came with it?
-
I didn't know that!
So, we finally get something you guys don't?!?
I didn't, think they go through the trouble of making three iterations of the RA for the three markets... can they really save money by taking the CC arm off or installing standard mirrors?!? It looks to me like the extra trouble in producing three versions would outweigh such small savings...
But like I always say, why make it simple when you can make it complicated, uh?

What really kills me is that all the wiring is there for heated mirrors on the US version, we just need the mirrors with the heat element. I should ask the dealership if they can order them, and if so, how much it'd cost.
dude, we totally went off topic here, lol. I personally do not like the cruise control feature, so therefore once I get the evo 8 steering wheel, I could care less about it. I'd be interested in seeing that 2.4 mivec decal on the sideskirt RALLIART2U

NorCal: The CC is a really handy feature on long highway runs. I used to drive more than 50,000Km a year (around 30,000 Miles) back in the days, and the cruise control was very helpful... saved me from a lot of tickets too.
Since it's not that hard to mount the CC arm back, why would anyone throw it off?
-
Yeah, I've had too many tickets to do away with cruise, so that's why I need to find a way to rig it into the evo wheel.
Thanks so much for the suggestions guys, any more are definitely welcome! Has anyone actually done this....change out the wheel and bring cruise back in?

It's still strange that they actually took the time to design a different RA without the CC arm though... to my knowledge, only the arm (including it's switches) is needed to enable the cruise control function. The rest is purely software driven through the use of throttle-by-wire...
Hey, does that mean than any ES owner only has to add the CC arm and plug it in to enable the CC fonction?!? If so, guys who took theirs out may easily find buyers for it on the base Lancer forum...
Or maybe Mitsubishi thought of that and actually uses an alternate version of the ECU code...

As far as I know cruise control comes with the convience package on the ES, and you need the module under the hood for CC. You can rig up the CC somewhere else, maybe by the dimmer for the lights?
They probibly do save enough money by not including the parts, they aren't to difficult to install.
