Voltage Regulator/Stablizer Question

I have noticed since the crank pulley install, that my interior and exterior lights dim when the car is put into neutral, but when in gear, everything goes bright. Is this potentially bad for the ECU and other electrical components since the power fluctuates? Would a voltage stablizer/regulator help with this and does anyone know where to get a good quality one? Thanks.

I wouldn't worry about it. The ECU has its own means of filtering the power it gets.

No. There is no danger to the ECU. The votage dips from 14.4V to 12.5. Don't worry dude. The same thing would happen if you were running a lot of amps in your car without a farad Cap.

Would a regulator/stablizer help though? I just don't like seeing my headlights dim at night when i'm stopped. I"m also worried about the extreme cold temperatures we are soon to get. I have a Cap for my stereo system that havn't installed yet because there has not really been any significant draw at this point, although i'm expecting with a second amp to drive the speakers, this will get worse. I"m not an electrical gouru, but wondering if both would be overkill (Cap, and voltage regular/stablizer), or if one is sufficient, and which would be best.

I wouldn't worry about it dude. Honestly.

I have a amp that draws at least 1100w and its never been a issue. The Cap will help just as a stronger battery will help if your worried about your cold starts.

Alright, lets say i'm not worried about it. Does anyone have an answer about voltage regulators/stablizers and if this would help. Thanks.

Well, I don't have much info on those. But, if you don't already have a grounding kit that will help a bit to stabilize.

Trust me, it won't help. Got full grounding kit and voltage stablizer w/ stereo pushing < 1,000w RMS. With or W/O you'll see no noticeable difference... Like here at what I have ( https://www.evolutionm.net/registry/...vride&vid=3738 ). Notice the grounding kit and V.S.

I have both the grounding kit and a voltage stabilizer. I personally noticed at difference, headlights where brighter, idle was much better, car ran a little smoother. Don't expect life changing differences and don't expect 10 horse let alone 2, but personally for the price that I paid and how it looks in the engine bay I think it was worth it. There are benefits too both products as much as people disagree. I don't however have an undriven pulley so I can't help you there, my adivce though would be to get a better battery first as that will help out a lot more then a grounding kit would in your instance.

Hey Nick, can you give me a little more info. What brand VS did you get? Do you have any pictures of it installed in your car? How much was it? Thanks
