There was a guy that came into my shop yesterday with a blue evo asking me the same question. I would put it in the cubby hold below the radio. You will have to make a bracket out of abs or another type of material to get it to work down there, but it is functional and it looks the better than just sticking it to the dash somewhere or on a vent.

by the way which unit do you have?

I have Sirius, and didn't want a seperate unit, so I just bought a new Clarion deck, and the control unit goes behind the dash. I don't know about XM, but I've seen Serius visor units. Not much of a display, but very compact!!!

Well that doesn't make much sense. Isn't it made to go on the roof or on the back of the car? Why would they not make the cable long enough to reach the unit? And have you checked with Sirius to see if they sell and an extention cord for the antenna?
