Engine Damper idea

I noticed by looking at some pics of the engine damper in our cars, it's looks to be about the size of a hockey puck. Since I think a puck is all rubber so ya think we could modify it and use it as the damper?? Just a crazy idea i had but I think it could work not sure though looking for input.

Engine dampers made by Bauer and sponsored by NHL

I think you're talking about engine mounts!?

I think that a puck would give the density in a rubber product that we need to keep the engine stable. I have not yet taken my damper out so I do not know if the rubber is made to the metal or if you can just slide the damper out of the metal houseing. I am really looking forward to doing this I was hoping someone had their dampers outta their car and had a puck laying around.

See my thread on DIY solid mounts. There are several pictures of the mounts and how they come apart in it.

I don't have a hockey puck laying around, though...

Believe it of not, hockey pucks are not very durable. They don't do very well with flexing since the rubber is so hard. Also the several hockey pucks that I've seen broken in half in my 15 years of hockey had air bubble pitting in them. I wouldn't go cheap on such an important part. Shell out the extra money for real mounts.

I'm just surprised that anyone from Alabama not only knows what a hockey puck IS, but seems to know their size and hardness, implying that they've actually HELD one before.

Yes, the first thing I did when I saw this thread posted was check to see if he was from Canada, or maybe Minnesota.
