LSD price increase

EH, just saw the other post, my bad...I guess it can be deleted, unless anyone else knows why the LSD price went up. I thought it was $899 before, is it a different lsd?

Good question. I saw that huge price increase too. I wonder if it's simply because there's been a lot of demand for it? I'm sure if something was changed they would list it.

Yes, it is a different LSD. When I purchased mine from them, I too paid 1200 for it. I think the difference was the cheaper one was a clutch type that made a chattering noise, and a torque sensing one that is as quiet as stock.

I messaged them about their LSD 3 weeks back and they claimed that Kaaz was the only LSD they used, whichw as the clutch type. I asked if it was possible to get one done up from Quaife, or a non-lsd type, and they told me it couldn't be done...

What's the deal?!?

Where is the other thread about this? I'd really like to know what the cause of the increase was too. I plan to get the lsd the same time as the turbo, but I'd only counted on $900. If it wasn't for this thread I wouldn't have even noticed the price increase.

? don't know, but they sold me a quaife for the RA. I think i've found a dealer that is going to do the install for me in the new year, so if mine is for the wrong application, you'll definately hear about it, and someone will have some explainning to do as it was $1600 CDN, and its gonna cost me to open the tranny up. RRM has never once confirmed from the last thread that started that they had one but it was sold.

Definately get the #'s! Normally if something is in high demand the price only goes up if the supply is limited (no pun intended). I think what's happening here is the consumer is getting "value added" in the way of a RRM sticker or something... That is quite a jump though! I personally thought it was too much to begin with before the hike. Now I think I'll continue the 1 tire fire untill I upgrade to 2 lsd's via EVO X. Unless someone comes up with the part #'s so we can buy direct, or maybe another vendor might start selling them. Either way, price hike BAD, lower price GOOD!

While we are on the price change topic, the turbo is down $100. Still doesn't make up for the $300 increase on the LSD.

I am really hoping they gave you the right one. I would pay 1200 if I had it for a Quaife. That is the one mod that I want over all the rest and it will probably be two years or more before I can get it. What a bummer.

I have to edit this, I have no idea what type of LSD is better. I hear all this conflicting stuff...

clutch type is not as good as torsion(sp) or whatever the quaife uses. Every car guy I have ever talked to says that, and although I have never actually experienced it, they have been right about almost everything else they have evey told me.
