opinions on this shift knob

I am looking at getting this shift knob but I wanted to check and see if anyone has had any good or bad experiences with it. It is the RAZO super heavy weight knob that weights 12oz. = $33 @ lancershop

I am looking for a couterweight type knob that is not very tall, so if anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them.

I've had a knob LIKE that before. It took some getting used too because of the increase in physical size. BUT, the counter weighting was very nice.

Does that screwon direct or does it have set screws?

I guess it looks okay. Does the weight make it easier to shift?

Meh, mildly...its more of a complement to a short shifter.

it has thread in adaptors. Im not sure if that is the 3 screws around the outside like the cheapies to tighten it to the post or if those actually screw into the inside of the knob to change the thread size/count.

The knob is pretty big compared to the average knob, almost 2" in diameter, but I figured that would be good for me since I have such big hands (XXL gloves, 13 ring).

Does anyone make just a raw metal ball that is heavy. I have seen aluminum and titanium ***** that I like but they are all light weight.

I have the one that came with the Lancershop short sifter kit. At first I didn't think I'd like the feel of it, but after using it now I love the way it fits in my hand. That along with the added weight makes for great shifting. And yes a counterweight knob makes shifting faster and easier.

I haven't used a counter weighted ball yet, although I'm glad I went back to a leather knob with the summer heat just killing my hand. A leather counter weighted ball would be perfect.

This is probably a good idea. I have already had a small experience with a metal shifter and it was during november. I cant imagine what a metal shifter would feel like in july or august in TX.

I don't know how to show pictures, but look up Item number: 8023534022 on ebay. It is a leather and carbon fiber shift knob. It is very heavy and fits my large hand really well. I was unsure about buying this knob at first because I thought that it would be cheap. It turned out to be the best choice I could have made. Its the best shift knob available for someone with big hands.

So is one pound heavy for a knob? I have no real point of reference for the average knob. I know mine is heavy, but I have no clue what the weight of it is.

metal shifters are no fun in extreme hot or cold.

So... what if your hand was moist from your morning coffee condinsation... and you grabed your metal shift knob.. and it was like 10 degrees out... could you image if you stuck your skin to it like touching the inside of a freezer?
