Replacing Head Unit...

I currently have the Sun and Sound package and I would like to upgrade to an aftermarket cd player. Does anyone know if there is a special harness available to run from the new cd player to the amp under the seat???? I would like to keep the same configuration w/all the factory speakers (7) being run by the same amp.

If you upgrade the head unit you will loose your indash 6cd changer. You can either replace the HU and add an aditional CD changer and connect all this to the stock amp speakers with an adapter or leave the stock HU and CD and upgrade the amp and speakers running trought the same adapter. You can use this..

My sun and sound didn't come with a 6-disc changer. I had my audio shop fab up some wiring to switch from the stock stuff to the Clarion head unit I have. My system still uses the preamp under the driver's seat and the sub so I lost no functionality but gained a much, much better head unit. (My stock Mitsu/Infinity was faulty, wouldn't play CDs for a damn.) I did add a 6-disc trunk changer and the satellite radio too, which I would advise doing also if you are already paying a shop to install stuff. Buying lots of things at once = better price.

The SSL receiver seems to read my cds worse than the stock receiver on my ES that I had.

What kind of receiver are you thinking about going with?
