Is it possible.....???

hey guys, i was just thinkin at work and i had this crazy idea. Would it be possible for me to take my RRM SRI, measure out the pipes, do some welding, and turn that sucker into a CAI?? to me it seems very possible, just a lot of precise measuring, what do you think?

Sounds plausible to me... do you wanna convert because you already bought the SRI and want more power or what? If you're having problems with heat sink, you might wanna check out the method of using the stock airbox and ram to make a heatshield for the SRI filter. And I'm not sure whether or not RRM CAI filters differ from RRM SRI filters. What kinda piping are you planning to use? From what I know, everything from the MAF to the intake manifold should be the same. Check with RRM.

Can be done, if you're able to weld aluminum. If you made it out of steel, it'd be HEAVY. Sell the SRI and buy a used CAI, saves some effort and you'll have a better product.
