after putting in the upd and the engine dampenor my engine makes differnet noises durring acceleration. and a more noticeable ticking noise during idle. it seems during acceleration i hear a whirring up noise and when i switch gears its like a divertor valve on a turbo car and then winds back up again. is that the oil pressure rising and falling???? is it just normal from the aftermarket pulley??? i dont think it has anything to do the the dampenor kit. and ihave had my intake since day 2 of my car and never did that before.
however its just noise.......the engine runs fine. still has all its power.

I've got 82k and motor wise, no issues at all....very durable....performs even better now than when brand new....blows and burns nothing. I have however been through a tranny and a clutch.....thats about it! Many cold starts. But I do take care of it very very well.

Bump ive hit 70k now
Ive adjusted the lash one an put some good tranny fluid in it.
Motor makes a little ticking noise but nothing major. Seems to be more quiet when i dont run her as hard. It burns just a little oil. Ive run nothing but mobile 1
Anyone blow one yet?
How you coming along Myszkewicz?

I'm up to 50k, going turbo beginning of next month. Slight ticking at idle, a little squeaking going over bumps, nothing else really.
Free timing belt at 60k, I am hoping to stick around the shop and see how everything looks. I wash my engine every now and again so any oil or dirt in places I can't reach will be very obvious.

im at 60k WOOT! 90% freeway miles. i get a ticking sounds and a weird whine when my engine starts for the first time of the day but if i let it sit for like 1 minutes or 2 it sounds normal. need to bring in the car for the big 60k work. haha.
(valve lash) have you heard of BACK-LASH, its hard to explain over the PC, however back lash is a situation where there is a gap greater than Specified by engineering or designer, in can be explainned this way also,
Example= back-lash / there is some play in the gears if you have two gears meshed together and you move them back and foward you are going to notice som free play, free play can be another word for back-lash.
and it's adjusted by adjusting youre part whatever case it would be.
if this doest help google-it
the rocker arms sit over your valves and pushrods. As the camshaft turns it pushes the puhrods and the pushrods push the valves down. If you don't adjust them performance will suffer because the valves won't open as far. Be careful when you adjust them because if you don't set the correct gap you could force them down into the pistons.
Should be done every 30k miles btw. I would imagine you are going to feel quite a difference. there is a diy in the diy forum.

I'm up in the low-mid 80s now, like 83-84k miles. Still running great, I'm actually well on my way to a 31+ mpg tank of gas, even with the Yakima roof rack on. I have 180 miles on this tank, still well above half a tank. My record at 1/2 tank is about 210.
Still not leaking or burning, minimal noise except the rear control arm bushings when I hit bumps. Still shifting fine with the GM Synchromesh fluid in it for the last 55k miles (changed every 25k).
I've run nothing but Mobil 1 or Royal Purple oil since the first oil change.
I'm quite happy with it.
