Anyone painted their strutbar a different color?

Just curious, has anyone repainted their strutbar a different color? If so, any pictures of it. I'm thinking of doing this, but was wondering how it looked. And if you have, what kind of paint was used?

You gonna paint your front or rear? I think it could look cool either way if you do it right.

If I was going to paint mine, it'd be black.

its very easy to body match. just sand it with like 800 grit sandpaper. blast it with a couple coats, clear coat it. 2000grit or some rubbing compound. a coat of polish/wax. install it and your all set

I painted mine with some metallic paint I got at walmart. It is a three coat system and looks very good. I didn't prime, just cleaned and scruffed it up a bit. It took all of the paint and base coats, but I still had some clear left. I used Cobalt Blue, which looks lighter than it did on the container, but I expected some difference, I used to be a painter so I know how much colors change from sample to application.

Overall I am very pleased with the outcome, although if I were to do it again I would probably go to the next shade darker in blue. I can get a pic sometime this weekend if you want to see what it looks like. I have plans to do more in the engine bay, I just haven't been able to find the mettalic base coat in walmart, it's always sold out.

Oh, the last time I went to the stealership the head tech and the service manager where both standing in front of my car with me when the tech opened the hood and they both said ooooohh when they saw it. Painted looks way better than stock red.

oh, and my wires on my custom grounding kit and my amp kit match the blue almost perfectly, I just remembered this so I may not repaint to another color

I was thinking of going with black or blue, but wanted to see if anyone had done either color before making a decision. DangerousDan if you wouldn't mind, think you could get a picture of how it looks whenever you get a chance?

Now that you say it Myszkewicz, that could be pretty sleek. If I end up getting dark/close to black rims, that would look soo sleek with black calipers and front strut bar and mistu emblems. Tint would be the missing link. I'd like to see your pics DangerousDan, as well as anyone else that's done it or PSed it.

Btw found one: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...ght=engine+bay

I like the way that darker blue looks in the engine bay. Now I'm just curious as to how it would look black....

yeah, I have seen that one. That is actually what gave me the idea for the strut tower brace. That and red is @ss ugly. Mine is much lighter, will post pics asap.

BTW, the paint I mentioned is around twenty USD for all three coats.
