Carbon Fiber Questions
here are some pictures of some spare time training... use some old pieces laying around and damaged them and was about to do some repairs when i had some free time...
dropped it a couple of times and used a screwdriver to delaminate some of the pieces...
this piece is solid carbon... as you can see.. there is no fiberglass like some hoods you will find have a layer or two of carbon over the fiberglassed mold of the hood... then they sell it as a carbon fiber hood and can charge double for .020 or an inch of material...
1 layer of carbon fiber or fiberglass is about .010 of inch(ten thousands)... so the hoods that are solid cf... that are close to .125(1/8)-.250(1/4) of an inch... that means the hoods could be anywhere from 12 layers up 25 layers... i think did the math right...
