Pulley power?

I've had my underdrive pulley for about a week now and i know everyone says that you can't really feel the power, but does anyone think that they have LOST power?? My car doesn't seem to accelerate as it did with the stock pulley. Does anyone else have a similar experience.

The only other downfall is that the lights to lose brightness up until you hit the accelerator.

Definately more power. But yes, headlights dim down at an idle on cold nights, but its a fair trade-off.

The power is their. Most people just expect to much, and dissapoint themselves.

you're expecting more than it's optimized to gain. the official word on the RRM site marks "around 7hp and 9ft/lbs torque" so thats not a absolute huge gain, you should be able to have an idea of the difference

You should not have ANY loss in power. I mean your going from a 4lb pulley to a 1/2lb pulley. It will help everywhere but won't be like night and day. Once again for the money it is phenomenial. Sorry you are disappointed although I noticed the pulley was better when fitted with a CAI and an exhaust. Best of luck to you!

You dont actually feel a kick in the pants but it cuts down the time you need before shifting. More noticeable thru the first 3 gears. If that doesnt scream difference to you. Hit it itha 75 wet shot of nitrous. Not me though, N/A all the way

I've had they pulley kit for about 5 months now, but as of last week my alternator went out. Anyone else have this problem? The volts were jumping from 12 to 16+ like crazy the week before it went out.

You have an EVO. I would say your alternator going out is not related. If anything it would put less stress on the alternator if it was undersized.

i put my pulley on and it's working like it suppose to. It's nice to have a combination sri/pulley/catback exhaust! You will see a major difference!

dont know about it on an evo, but on the old dsms whithout an exhaust wrap or heat shield, the heat would sometimes damage an alt. causing failure.

do you have to reset the ecu if you put the under drive pully on ?

if you read the ad in rrm about the under drive pully, he said some were in ther about reseting the ecu and it actually pulled timming wich made the car slower. so he had to put the stock pully back on and reset the ecu to normal again, and then put the new one back on again before he got an accurite reading on the dyno.

so am i gonna have to keep swapin pullies back and forth every time i disconect my battery?
