Firewall hole for running wires
I am installing a system and can not find the groumet(sp) hole to run my positive wire through the firewall. Do I have to drill one myself or is predrilled somewhere.
BTW, I am running 0 gauge wiring so the hole has to be atleast the size of a penny.

I drilled my own for a 4g wire. Supposedly there's a grommet on the passenger side firewall, but it's not big enough. There's a nice spot to drill in the driver's side footwell, behind the clutch pedal (look underneath the car and you'll see what I mean)

I ran my power wire through the passenger side gromet. Just use a straightned coat hanger fromthe engine bay side and feed it through. It took me a couple tries, but I eventually got it to go down under the dash. I have a pic, but my wire is no where near 0ga.
I have the same problem. 1/0 gauge is the only way to go with a 1000watt amp and a 550... I think I'm going to have to spend the $10 for a 1" metal/wood hole saw at Lowe's. It will be worth it though

Forget using the passenger side grommett, your going to have to fish a lot of line to get over there... Drill the hole, and when you figure out where, let me know... I have to find a place to run my 0awg through... not looking at a 1000 watt system, but my 3 xtant amps take 4awg each...
theres a rubber grommet on the lower left side of the passenger side... its not difficult at all... just poke a hole with a screw driver make sure its goes through the firewall.... have the power wire come from the inside of the car... and push it through the fire wall... simple. ive done it several times already. =/.

remove the driver side fender lining and look, there is a large rubber sealed hole there, that is where mitsu runs the wires for the factory performance gauge cluster. use it, poke a hole with a screwdriver and be done.
I ran mine yesterday through the drivers fender hole for the fuse block... fit like a charm, even fit under the door plastics to back seat then into the trunk... cake walk... It is memphis 0awg wire/some of the thickest for 0 gauge
That's cool.. I have 2 12" Kicker subs in the kicker box and a kicker amp... too much weight though... the box alone weighs 70 lbs... so i'm sellin the subs and getting one 10 or 12 and building a lightweight box... I like the bass but not enough to sacrifice that much weight...
