This is new......how does it bring diesel like qualities to a gas engine?

The fuel is introduced late during the compression stroke right near the plug, so they can run ultra lean and very high compression like diesles do, for more power but less fuel at the same time.

If we had the HID Headlights and the JDM interior (seats, navigation, etc.), I would be happy as hell. That's what the interior of our car should look like.

Basically, you get more control over exactly how the fuel is mixed in the combustion chamber. You can control the point in the stroke where the fuel is injected, as well as exactly how much goes in.

Sounds pretty fun ... also a bit scary when it comes to tuning for somebody new-ish.

Oooh okay thanks....That explains the fuel ratio reading between 1:12 to 1:13 during the GDI mode when trying to tune it.....

Yup the stock ECU controls everything so efficiently that I cannot use a piggyback ECU.... Two months ago, I tried piggybacking a Fcon SZ into the system....everything works except injector control which means the Fcon SZ cannot adjust A/F ratio.

I found out that the stock ECU over-rides the altered signal from the Fcon SZ. This means the stock ECU auto-tunes itself and compansates for every slight change in parameter..... The HKS tuner mentioned that the OHMs (or is it impedence) needed for GDi injectors was higher than what the Fcon SZ can send.

The other way is to disable the GDi function and get a full standalone that connects to the injectors directly which probably leaves the problem of fuel regulation. With the GDi system, there is no fuel regulator...its just a massive fuel pump......Dont know if I need to change the pump or get a bigger surge tank...

Doesn't matter...I only gotten the car for 9 months.....I have the time to research somemore......

Let me add something else to that:

With direct gas inyection, since the gas is inyected as a liquid, as it evaporates in the combustion chamber, it sucks up a lot of (detonation producing) heat, thus making it safer to increase the compression ratio, even with cheap gas.

Its soo lame that most of asia gets the same as the Japanese but they leave North Americans out. In Hong Kong they also have some special editon cars like Galants and Evo IX JCSE that even Japanese don't have. But Anyways, i think Mitsu should stop hiding all the goodies from us.

Eh, you can still get special editions here, that are unique to the US, but you just have to look a bit harder. For example, the Evo 330 and 350 that you can buy through a couple dealerships, fully warrantied.

Damn I Love Those Seats. I Just Want Nicer Seats. Thats It. Everything Else Is Easily Upgradable Imo. Hate It. Enough Ranting I Like Everything On Our Cars Better Except The Seats.
