The R/A as a pratical "family car"
from a females perspective on this the Mivec has more than enough room in it for a young family also another thing to keep in mind is that you will only use or need a pram for 6-8 months a stroller for maybe 1 year... now most strollers fold up to be very compact and take up bugger all space... my kids 9 &12 have mass amount of space in the rear of the car to sit and throw there stuff around in the car I think you will be fine for probably 90% of the time the other 10% is simply that a very small incconvienience that will happen maybe once or twice a year and bythe time it comes around again the family situation would of changed again from pram to stroller - get the MIVEC

You could mount 2 of them by where the rear speakers are. Possibly make a small slit in the carpet there and mount under so only the LED is showing and have them angled in toward the roof of the car.

Those are the LED's I used for under the dash and front seats. Same lights different company. I'm not sure where you would put those for rear lighting without them being an eyesore. The ones I have under my seat do help with the rear lighting (though that's not really their original purpose). I don't know if that is where someone would want to put them if they were actually looking to use them as rear cabin lights. But again I can't think of where else to put them without them sticking out like a sore thumb.

had an o3 ES, wanted to get a Sportback for the baby but they were discontinued, ended up with an Outlander, purchased an 04 in early 05 on a great price from South Coast. If your one of those parents that carry around alot of baby gadgets and gear ( stroller, playpen, toys etc), this might be tight. Passenger size is the same in my Outlander but cargo area is slightly bigger than the Sportback. Not as sporty, but hey, you already have a Ralliart, its just better to get something bigger than regret it later, Plus engine is the same, if you stick to the 2wd weight is close, plus they might have deals on o5's for cheap now.

My wife has an X5 and I've been using my RA on the weekends (to save on gas) and it's been great. Kinda bumpy, but I was pleasantly surprised that a double stroller (I've got the MacClaren Twin Traveller) had no problems fitting in the trunk. Since you already have an RA, maybe an SUV not a bad idea? Something for the snowy days and for the longer trips? The RA does get a bit uncomfortable for long trips...

You should have plenty of space, it is a Lancer afterall. That and your kids will think it's okay for you to drop them off at school when they get older.
"That's my dad over there in the sports car!"
"Isn't that a grocery-getter?"
