I had new projecor lights installed at the dealer since I didn't want to take the front bumper off myself. They did it in about an hour and a half and charged me a fortune. Anyway, I took a quick look, everything looked good and I went home. The next day I was washing the car and I noticed some deep scratches right at the tip of the front fender piece, just above the bumper, that weren't there before.
To make a long story short, they agreed to fix the scratches. So they took the car to fix it, which involved painting the whole panel where the side indicator is. Anyway, after having to wait for 3 days to get it back, I pick my car up and the paint match was perfect and the scratches were gone. I was happy
Just yesterday though, I went to wax the car and I noticed some dull spots all over my hood, the front bumper and even on the door. Their was also some haziness to one of my headlights. You could feel the paint in those areas was not smooth like most of the car. When you looked in the light, you could see dots on the paint as if it was sprayed on. I'm guessing this was caused by overspray from the paint booth and whether it was clear coat or something else I'm not sure. It was a pain though to get off!!!
.
I used a clay bar and had to go around feeling the paint all over the car to see where the overspray had hit it. It took me over 3 hours just to clay the car and remove all of that crap on the paint. I was so mad, especially since the whole reason this happened was that the mechanic scratched my car while working on it. Anyway, I feel much better getting that off my chest. The car looks great now, though there is still an area or two where the overspray was just to thick to get off. I'll have to try to clay it off again the next time I wash the car. Got to wonder about that Mitsu service
Has anyone ever experienced something like this???
Sorry about the long post.

im not sure if it was because of the dealership, but my car went in for tranny problems a few weeks back, i was waxing it a couple days ago and right by my passenger side fog light, there is a big crack in my bumper, i took it to the dealership and he said it looks like a stress crack so mitsu corp. is gonna replace my bumper for free. im just gonna be out of a car from june 9th til whenever they get the bumper on and painted.
I can feel your pain. When I went to the Tustin Dealership to get my oil changed (under free maintenance) they rolled the oil cart into the side door of my car. When I got the car I did a complete check of the vehicle at every angle and noticed that there were two dings in the driver side door (check was done at the dealership)
. So I called the guy over and told him they werent there when I brought the car to them. He wanted to argue a little with me so I told him to get his manager over here. So the manager came over and I told him the same thing. Sure enough the cart fit the dings perfectly. I told them that I needed the car and that since they caused this damage I wanted a rental while they had it. They paid for a dodge durango for 2 weeks while they had my car.
What really peeved me was the fact the dealership never let me know the status of my car when they said they would. Unreal, two weeks to paint the car door! I think they let it sit on the lot for a week. Glad they paid for the rental!!!

Pics are in the Show & Shine section. With the PIAA Star White H3 bulbs I put in they are just as good as our stock lights only a nice white colour rather than that nasty yellow.

Like he'd ever admit he scratched a car. (He did say that the mechanic would not get in trouble for admitting his mistake) Fortunately, the manager looked at the damage himself and could tell the scratches could have never gotten there without the bumper being off.
wow... i could write a novel on mitsubishi... When i took original delivery of my car they gave it to me in the cover of darkness. The next day when i examed my car i noticed white specs all over my beautiful black ralliart. I take it in. Oh... must be spray from when they were painting road line (insert a bunch of dealership mumbo jumbo) k.. so.. i get my car back after a week of them stripping the clear coat / paint sealent crap. Get my car back once again in the dark. Next day my hood looks all swirly. Another 2 days in the shop getting that redone. YAY! Fast Forward to about 3 weeks ago. I'm driving home from school and a girl ran a stop sign just as I started to go from my stop. she "sideswiped" my front end because i came to a complete stop when I saw her. My front bumper was completely covered in white paint. I was like
So pretty soon I had it into my local dealership. They repainted the bumper really nice (though it took them about a week and a half) (insert lie about ordering a new bumper causing the delay) So i get my car back and OH GREAT! my front lip is completely covered in touch up paint. They felt the lip was not "part of the loss due to the accident" Also there was a paint flaw on my hood (which they conviniantly covered up with a rock deflector) It was a white stringy something or other that was between the clear coat and paint. They didnt want to fix that because "my hood had been repainted by an unknown source therefore it is not under waranty" My hood had never been painted to my knowledge. Finally they paint that. They paint my lip after fussing about "the touch up paint looking ok" and now my ralliart is back to looking great as can be. YAY! I hate mitsu
