Question about CAI

I was wondering if i would need to reset the ecu once it is put on. ive search other threads on this and some say to disconnect the power while others say its not necessary and to just let the engine idle for 15mins. Not sure which one is the right way.

I disconnected my battery just b/c it gave me a little more room while installing, but it wouldnt harm anything to do that and then after just idle for a few min.

Just do both and you'll be right.

^+1. You will probably have to take the battery out to install the CAI anyways so you should be good.

I left the battery on while installing it. Threw me the SES light right away. I reset the computer. Then it went on and off for about 400 miles. It has stayed off since. The fact that I have a downpipe might have changed results. Every time I've reset the comp since the dp install, the car doesn't idle well for awhile.

Only guys who had a small problem with install. Don't disconnect until you get a CEL. Just let the ECU learn by idling the car for a bit first.
