2006 Lancer Ralliant... Tips?
I just purchased a 2006 Lancer Ralliant and thought i would drop by and ask for some tips.. Pretty much i really just wanna know what the smartest and affordable things i can do to this car to give it more HP and Torq!! Im not to experienced with speed.. Im used to offroad! But very excited about my new Lancer... Also i know there is a certain amount of miles that you have to be easy on a brand new car and i was wondering if anyone knew... Its to hard for me to be easy but ill try to do it!
Break in is like 500 miles i think? Check out www.roadracemotorsports.com they have a cheap pulley that'll free up a few horses and just about everything they make for the ralliart.

haha u redlined the car didnt u?!?!? DONT LIE
. It says in the manual the brake-in for the car, i think its like 600-800 miles, something like 4k rpm or under(somewhere around there)> Now the parts for this car is dominated by mainly RRM. The quickest way for hp is either u have alot of dough and get the turbo kit from RRM or supercharger from RIPP (ull put 240whp, and the car will pull better than a stock srt-4).
If ur low on cash- pulley, piggyback, CAI, cat-back exhaust, and etc.

my first purchases for around $675 including installation from a mech & shippin was a (keep in mind my car is an auto) Short ram intake, under drive pulley, Low tie bar, and progress springs =) its pretty awesome... looks awesome too
break your car in a little first, read the NOOB thread stickied in this forum (TONS of info in there and I still reference it occasionally), then visit RRM for a variety of parts.
There are some parts widely available (CAI, shifters).
RRM is more of a "one stop shop" for our cars, as they have put together a whole line of parts for our cars.

the smell is normal for a new car, every new car comes with a film of oil and stuff on the exhaust, tranny, and other engine parts that get hot, as it burns off it smells, trust me i do PDI's (Pre Delivery Inspection) on new vehicles for a living while im in college.
I drove my car HARD on the test drive, same as I planned on doing if I bought it. I brought it back to the dealership after the test drive with the brakes smoking, and a big grin on my face.
I'm now up to almost 67,000 miles, and no problems from the drivetrain whatsoever.
