Kinda nice dealership experience

Well, Not to discredit anyone else's experience because I know the dealerships can be a real kick in the schmitz, I had a rather decent experience with my dealership and my purchase.

I've owned my R/A nearly two years. I keep getting postcards and what not on the mail from the dealership advertising their "back u up" service, which comes free with the car. Basically free roadside assistance (in my state I believe), and an extended warranty on the powertrain if its dealer maintained. At any rate, like a dumb@ss I locked my keys in my car, WITH it running and the a/c on yesterday. To make a long story short I had been working out in the sun all day, and just made a really stupid mistake not thinking. Anyhoo I called the dealerships "back u up" line, they had a guy out ot my location in about 20 mins, unlocked it for free and sent me on my way. I purchased the car from Ken Garff Mitsu here in slc utah. I understand there have been other evo owners with not such great experiences with them. Just wanted to share what may be a quite common thing for other dealers that I'm unaware up, but I sure was grateful to have a free service like that available and to have them there so quickly.

Happy fourth all.

Its good to know there are at least some good dealerships out there that still care about their buyers.

Yeah i have a felling mine would too. Although the dealer did call me a few times to check on my car which i did appreciate. He gave me a few free car washes too. I guess thats better than what some people get.

To add another nice dealership story, I stopped in at my dealer (Porcaro Mitsubishi in Racine, WI) the other day to inquire about a roof rack for my car. The parts guy looked it up in the computer, and noted that it said Lancer (except Ralliart). He offered to order one anyway, which we could test-fit upon arrival.

I've been wanting a bike rack for a while now, don't want to order one from mitsubishiparts.com if it's not going to fit. I looked at the possibility of a Thule or Yakima rack, and had to search around the house for my eyes, which popped out and rolled away then they saw the price.

Yakima's bike rack parts will fit on OEM load bars, in fact the part that Mitsubishi sells that holds the bike is a Yakima part.

Hopefully, the rack fits. The only possible reasons I can see for it not fitting are the sunroof and the antenna. If it's the antenna, it's coming off. If it's the sunroof, I just won't put it up to vent. It'll either be closed, or fully open.

Either way good luck man. It can be frustrating when something doesn't fit how you want it too.

Glad to hear it, my experience with the roadside service was terrible... I picked the day their phone system went out to have something go wrong.

The free oil changes/service I had is based off getting something else done at the same time that costs 3 times as much as from some where else...not to mention the 1hour+ oil changes

Yah.. the free oil changes are a scam. They told me I could get the free oil changes every 3 thousand miles. I get there at 3k and they say oh.. your salesmen was misinformed. You can only get them free every 7k. (mind you this was after they had changed it and handed me my bill) So i got in a huge arguement with the guy and finally he agreed to pay for it out of his pocket (yeah right) So now I pretty much refuse to get my oil changed there.

Yep, just another way to make money. I think these guys sit around a table and try to figure out how they can earn a few extra bucks to put in their pocket so they can blow it all on strippers or something.

dude, what's up with that? That **** happened to me for the first time, i was ***n pissed. I drove so far just to go to my favorite dealership and they kind of screw me over in the end. They said that my free oil change is only every 6 months or 7k miles but the last like 3 oil changes i ahd were free and only approx. 3000k apart. i was like wtf? Who is right here? is there oil change thing really a scam or not? and if it's not, is there anything i can do to prove whats right? becuz i too was told free oil changes through the warranty.

well , when i bought my car they gave me a paper that had all of the oil changes i could have (every 3k up to 24k) and everytime i go to the dealer i just hand the paper in , they sign the oil change im about to do and the miles the car has and they do the oil change. Its always better to have it in writing.

i got the 50K free maintenance plan (im sure I paid for it somewhere?) and its not only oil changes... They rotate the tires, change the oil (using my own full synthetic) change air filter every 7500 miles, cabin air filters, and I actually get hte full 15K, 30K, and 45K services... It used to be Mike Everitt Mitsubishi in Hickory NC, but it has changed hands and I haven't needed service yet... Now the plan only provides service every 7500 miles, while I change my oil every 3750... The parts guy even gave me free filters so I can change my oil in between using mitsu genuine filters... They even turned my front rotors once for free without me even mentioning the brakes were pulsating...
