Power Window Question

Hey! I've noticed that my driver side windows go down and up a tad faster than my passenger side windows.

If they are all the way down and I hit both of the UP buttons on front left and front right at the same time the driver side makes it up all the way about 1/2 second faster than the passenger side.

And it's the same with the rear... This seems strange to me - am I the only one like this?

Edit:
Oh and I forgot... I seem to be kicking into Mivec right at 4k and not 3.5 as before - is the computer "Detuning" for mileage or is this some kind of issue. Basically will "retraining the computer" bring it back down to 3.5?

Mike

My car feels like mivec kicks in at 4k but you can hear it switch at 3.5k i hope that's normal. I haven't noticed anything with my windows though sorry.

The mivec is controlled by oil pressure. It comes on after 45 psi if I remember.

My passenger front windows goes up and down a good bit slower than the rest. probably a wiring issue. no biggy to me, I just listen for no more window movement from the sunroof and then release the other buttons, they are all done by the time the sunroof stops moving.

4k is where the biggest jump in power is, but the switchover is almost dead on 3600.

I figured it was that, it switches around 3,500 but since it's makes most power at 4k you feel it most then.

I never noticed the power window thing.....I don't think I'm that **** Mike

As far as MIVEC, I can hear it switch at 3500 ish RPMs (I typically don't watch the tach - I listen to the engine, it is easier to hear with the CAI). Take a ride with me and you will see what I am talking about.

The switch always happens at around 3600, however, due to the stock fuel curve, you don't feel it until around 4k.

My windows do the same but i've never really worried about it as long as they work and go up and down.

The guy posting the thread, obviously.

Re the MIVEC cutover point. Some really good advice I read previously was to park the car, let it idle, and slowly increase your rpms. You will definately hear it switch over at 3600.

My windows do the same thing. Its not wayy slower. but if i pull up both buttons at the same time, the passenger side is about a half a seccond or less slower.

i dont know why either?

here's a thought.....the signal (electrical when you pull up on the switch) to roll up the passenger window has a longer distance to travel than the driver side. i.e. longer wire run.
This could explain the split second difference.

It could with the size of wire they use on those type connections. I think the size is in the range of 20-22 AWG, and braided if I am not mistaken. Small stuff.
