Ralliart info request

Ok so I am giving my ozrally to my sister and more then likely I am getting a ralliart. I might get an 06 but I prefer the 04/05 style and I had a few questions.

1.) Is their anything I need to pay special attention for?
2.) Is their a difference bewteen the 06 lancer and 04/05
3.) Any tips on how to get 200 hp(n/a)?
4.) Have any ralliarts beaten a lexus is300 and what did you have?

I think that will sum it up

1. The Yellow ones go faster!
2. Another 0.4L, MIVEC engine and bigger brakes for a start
3. Not sure but RPW's headers and a good intake sound like a great start from what I've heard.
4. Couldn't tell you.

04/05 to 06 is only really cosmetic differences. To get 200 hp n/a you're gonna need pretty much every n/a mod intake, header, full exhaust, piggyback, intake manifold, pulley, and anything else you can get. I don't think it would take much to take out a is300 if it's a 5speed ralliart. I know they have more hp but they also have more weight. Oh and the black ones are the fastest.

I think I got one of the very few 06 modified Ralliarts. Majority are 04-05. Check my cardomain link in my sig

2. yes there is. Visually they are different. Engine wise pretty much the same, very minor things that are different is what I've heard.

3. About the 200HP n/a, search up PR_Mivec, he's an inspiration to NA tuning for the Ralliart. He hasnt given much public insight, be he's a good dude to start off with.

So are you getting an evo or a ralliart? Well to answer your questions...

1. Well, only thing I notice is, she runs through gas really quick, I get about 19 - 20mpg.
2. All cosmetic
3. Intake, Header, Catback Exhaust, UD Pulley, Downpipe, Engine Damper, Intake Manifold, RRM Piggyback or Apexi AFC2
4. Yes, I/E/P - Pull 2 cars. They run low 15's stock, die down on topend. If you don't out launch him, you'll catch him mid 3rd, depending on how good your shifting is.

pr_mivec started a goodbye thread when he sold his RA. In it, he put everything out in the open.

The cheapest and most efficient way to make your car faster is to remove weight, by the way.

Why does the '06 weigh 80 lbs more than the '04?

I know that there are cosmetic changes, but what else has been done to add 80 lbs of weight?

04 RA v 06 RA

Side airbags became standard, that's probably a chunk of the weight.

I would go with the model RA's after 2004. Starting in '05 side airbags became available and in my opinion you need them. Take a look at IIHS website below showing a lancer in side-impact crash test without airbags, the barrier is hitting the dummy's head! Without the side-airbags, the lancer gets a Poor rating.

My '04 RA has side airbags.

EDIT: They were available in '04 as an option, they became standard in '05 or '06.

Ummm cosmetic diff/engine wise pretty much the same... I would have thought going from a 2.0L to a 2.4L MIVEC was kinda significant. More in the accessory list too I think
