Racing fuel

so the gas station down the road now advertises they sell 100 octane. I have the ecu which is tuned for 93 so would it even do much for me? i didnt look at the price yet but i thought id give it a shot once out of curiosity unless someone knows the answer already.

Yes/no...

Might give you better timing and reduce knock (like in a 100deg day)

I run 100 oct at the track @ 25 peak psi - but I have a turbo, in NA it doesnt help as much.

Expect about 4.50 a gal.

If you have the software and a laptop, you could make yourself a map for 100 octane (if you know what you're doing), but without more significant mods, I don't know how much you'd safely be able to get out of it.

If you're not tuned for it, you'll see no benefit.

in reply to everyone it is 100 degrees around here. and it will be for weeks which is weird for NY. i dont know enough to make a map myself. and id think youd have to see some benefit from it even if youre not tuned for it. although it would be minimal. i think ill put a few gallons in when my tank empties out and let you all know what happens

smart man.....however, whenever you get a turbo kit (if you ever will), then go put some race fuel in and compare dynos from 93 oct and 100 0ct. youll have a smile on your face.
