Nitrogen in Tires

Hey guys... so i'm reading along on the net, and i find this article:
http://pressherald.mainetoday.com/ne...ogentire.shtml

in a nutshell, people are filling their tires with part nitrogen. i guess this is nothing new, and it gives an average gain from 1-2 mpg. this seems alot more legitmate than that friggin tornado gizmo. anybody does this yet with their tires? very interested!

I have my tires mounted & balanced at a place that specializes in Porsches and other sportscars. They've filled me tires with nitrogen the past few times. They didn't say anything about better gas mileage. They said the nitrogen is less sensitive to temp changes, so the tire pressure stays consistent. I hope I'm getting better mileage as an added benefit.

The better gas mileage is only going to affect people who are too lazy to monitor their tire pressure. If you're at the track, it makes it easier to keep an accurate pressure.

It really isnt that new, my mom uses it in her winter tires for her taurus, the reason being that it isnt affected by the extreme cold like air.
