High Pressure Hose

Hey guys,

I was just wondering, can a high pressure hose (those ones at car wash shops) give your car swirls?

Just curious..

Thanks

I would think that is more often caused by a cheap wash mit when used in a circular motion. I've read that it's always good to wash your car in straight lines, back & forth. Washing it in a circular motion causes swirls, epsecially with darker paints. I don't think high pressure water would cause many swirls.

Those "soft touch" car washes can also cause swirls. That's why I always use the touchless washes during winter here. They only use high pressure water and I can't see any swirls in my paint.

I use those a fair bit, I love those car washes See some great cars there too.
I havent had any issues from them, do watch out for the mop/broom/brushes that pump out the soapy bubbles because if they get left on the ground etc. may have some really abbrassive bits of sand and grit, I usually use the pressure hose on the brush before it touches the car.

Pressure washers can also take off some vinyl/stickers... which sometimes is good.

Well i use wash mits and sponges when i wash, but i also rinse off the sponge/mit before it touches the car, and after it touches when i'm about to dunk it back into the soaped water... I also make sure that i change the soap water when it gets dirty... cause then it defeats the purpose of me washin' the mits inbetween when the soapy water has dirt itself in it...

I use two buckets. One of clean soapy water and the other with the water to rinse the sponge off with.

Apparently using that brush isn't good and the brush definitely gives the car swirls because of those fine bristles. Not sure, but I'm not taking no chance. I've seen mercs only use the brush for the rim/tyre and the windows. Then rinse/soap the rest.
