Small scratches in Clearcoat... How to fix?

Hello! I just bought a new 32" LCD TV and when trying to get it in the trunk my wife let down on her end and it slid across the bumper a bit. It left some very minor scratches in the clearcoat but enough for somebody like me who is completely **** about the appearance of my car to be annoyed with.

I was thinking that I could use some polishing compound and polish them out since they're very fine but I am not sure.

Any advice is appreciated.

And just in case anybody decides to flame - send it in a PM please.

Thanks!

Mike

Show us some pics.

I used Autoglym Super Resin Polish, took most of it out or Meguiar's ScratchX.

If it is a light scratch, you should be fine, but if it's a deep one, not sure.

Someone else will be able to help..

Huh, a local shop buffed out some deep scratches in my bumper, for free none the less.

They're very fine surface scratches. It almost looks as though there was polish on the paint and the polish got rubbed off - that's the best way to describe it. I'll take a picture whenever I find some batteries for my camera =)
