CAI and Pulley Installation
CAI and Pulley Installation
Hey guys!
After installing the CAI and Pulley, do we reset the ECU? (removing the negative terminal right?)
I noticed by searching many of you say let the car idle, if so, how long should I let the car idle and be babied before I go hard?
Cheers!

I just installed my AEM intake last night... I disconnected the neg and pos cables on the battery, and the car had been sitting for 2 days... Funny thing is, when I was all done with it, my radio still worked (wasn't coded) and it idled and ran fine... Install of the intake took maybe 30 minutes including dicking around the garage and talking with the roommates...
I let it Idle 15 minutes or more then took it for a test drive... Can't say that the car feels much quicker, buts its defintely got a little more grumble to it at High RPMs....
Pulley goes on Tomorrow....

Honestly it makes no real sense to me to have to Reset the ECU for such minor modifications... I imagine it is a good idea on a CAI or SRI because you are unplugging the MAF sensor... I honestly don't believe it would have much efect though if you didn't...

i let mine idle for about 10 minutes then pulled out of the garage and drove hard. i never baby my car, i figure, i bought the RA because i like going fast, if i wanted to go slow i would buy an ES
Aren't the ES and RA the same engine? Same power output?
I think resetting the ECU would make a difference, perhaps not a HUGE difference - but a difference nonetheless..
I've ordered them in, see how they go when they get here. LA LA LA!
Any of you going to trade in for the new RA when it comes out?

Just thought I'd update my previous post in this thread... I installed the pulley last night, in my own garage with handtools... Took about 45 Minutes, most of that time was spent removing the splash shield clips... I was goin to use a ratchet on the tensioner, but ended up using a 1/2" breaker bar which was much easier if you have one at your disposal...
Definitely can tell a difference with this mod, not so convinced on the intake at this point though...
