Bosch Icon Wiper Blades

These blades are like $20 a piece at Auto Zone... they claim to be frameless and last much longer... has anyone had any experience with these yet?

I use the frameless ones that Trico makes for about the past 5 months, and I've been less than thrilled with them. They chattered straight from the box, and have never wiped as well as a good quality traditional blade has.

The Bosch ones may be different, though. Normally I use Bosch's microedge and I like it a lot, so if the Icons have the same rubber they may be better.

Canadian Tire came out with those about 2 years ago. I love them, they're cheaper then the Bosche ones, work better then any wipers I had owned before, and last longer. I had 1 set on my old Alero, took them off and put them on my xr when I traded it in...they're 2 years old now and only give a slight chatter when there's not a lot of moisture on the window. The set on the RA is about a year old now too, they give me a bit of chatter when there's not much rain, so I was going to see how they work when it starts getting icy again, if they suck I'll switch them out for a new set of the same.

Note: the RA gets driven a lot more then the xr so I would expect them to wear out faster.

EDIT: I've also noticed that Walmart seems to have a knock-off of these now too...not sure if it's worth saving the couple buck though to find out if they suck or not

Never tried those, though I have used Bosch wipers in the past with good results. I change my wipers twice a year, once in the Spring, and again in the Fall. Right now I have a new set of Anco winter blades on my car.

A buddy of mine uses PIAA wipers. One car has had them for around a year the other for almost three and both work like new. They are expensive as hell though. I have rainx wipers and I also used rainx when I replaced the wipers. It has only been a month or so but it seems they will work well, especially with the rainx on the windows. If I remember I will bump this thread when they start going bad.

I checked them some time ago and they look good and built to last a long time: they are OEM stuff in some Euro cars. Haven't tried em cause mine are working ok so far.

But please don't buy the Trico Innovision....I paid $35 for that POS! The big one (24") only worked for 3 weeks, then it lost the rubber blade: got a new one and it only worked for 2 more weeks...the short (18") worked ok. It is basically a metal arrm with a rubber strip poorly glued to it.

I've used these wiper blades on all my cars since they first came out. I've had nothing but good results with these blades and recommend them to my friends.

Seems it's just the Trico ones that blow then. I'll have to go out and find the bosch ones. Anyone know how well they hold up in the winter on snow/ice?

They weren't out during the winter so I have no clue. From my previous experience with Bosch wipers, they've held up very well in the snow and ice (Microedge).

I had the Canadian Tire version of these on my Neon last winter and they worked great. Much better than the traditional hinged type wiper blade. They don't freeze up like hinged wipers and they don't look as stupid on your car as the winter blades do durring the summer with those stupid rubber boots over the entire blade
