Unhappy RRM headers ???

Who here has got the RRM headers,
awile back I bought the magnaflow cat back exhaust, with stock headers, and everything sounded good. and ever since i got my Headers put on
when i floor it above 3K i get a RASPY sound has anyone eles have this problem?

That's because you now don't have a catalytic converter. Add in a highflow cat and it'll go back to sounding how it did.

Yep, you need a high flow cat, and possibly 1 or 2 resonators to quietn it down...

A HF cat just be prepared to still have the CEL

High flow cat is where it is at. The headers are great but people are surprised when t hey have a totally straight through exhaust. They tend to get loud, no matter what header or what car.

no more CEL here. RRM cat header and exhaust. no CEL elminator required. dont know why its not a problem but i wont complain.

Doesn't make sense to not have a CEL, since the second 02 should be noticing more air flow and triggering a P420 code. Maybe my car is just cursed

I have the CEL. Same as you, RPW headers..

Does the HF cat have to be welded in a certain place on the DP? For clearance issues.

It is weird isn't it... I had my RPW headers on for over 6000klm and not once did I get a CEL - I have one now simply because of the larger injectors which is a easy fix to rectify...

yeah i have the RRM, but i think its the same hit or miss deal for those as the RPW. for once luck is on my side

i just installed the RRM header and DP and it is pretty loud and raspy. especially since i also have the magnaflow catback. but hopefully i'm getting a high flow cat in put in 2moro.
