you cant expect to get it for free if you go to the dealership. their labour will cost you a fortune alone

You've just had the same wonderful experience that I had 15 years ago. My first car needed brakes, and I was dumb enough to take it in to a muffler & brake place to have them done.

$450 later, I had brakes, and vowed to never get taken like that again. $450 is a LOT of money to a kid that makes $5 an hour, part time. Heck, it's still more money than I'd want to pay for a basic brake job.

That basically was the kick in the @ss I needed to start learning about cars.

You can swap pads and bleed your brakes at all four corners in an hour. DIY

Wow, you could get some nice high brake kits for that and install it yourself. I made the same mistake letting the dealer fix the suspension parts after my accident with the ES.

Brakes are considered a wear item. So they will not be covered. Although I could be wrong. Now as for the e-brake, I couldn't say. Call a different dealership and ask. If this was supposed to be covered, then I would complain.

The labor sounds about right. If you had an Evo it would come to about the tune of 950 dollars.

tisk tisk, get your hands dirty man!!! instead your getting your wallet dirty! rear brakes ~ 20-30 min job depending on how stubborn the rotor is, in that case a 2x4 is the antidote. My father showed me how to do it once, and ive been doin it myself ever since and have saved thousands im sure.

I did that with one of my old cars. I got a new set of pads every 6 months for probably 5-6 years. The pads were adequate for a commuter car but not what I'd call GOOD.
