I still buy gas gas quick and sleazy.

I refuse to buy Shell because a number a vehicles here have broken down and had service guys say that breakdowns were because of water in the gas tank. The other common denominator was the frequent visit to a particular Shell station. There's rumored to be a leak in their tank, but no action has been taken.

That and the fact that they charge so much more.

probably some SERIOUS overkill here but I've put Chevron and ONLY chevron gasoline in my car from the start. I have a close friend who has rebuilt a few Toyota pickups and he happened to roll his own truck after putting approx 40K miles on the new motor. After rolling the truck he basically had to rebuild the motor, and he *claimed* that after using only chevron gasoline and the 40K miles it was still as clean as the day he first built it (or near to). I don't know how much truth there is to what he's saying but I tend to believe him, and I figure what does it hurt?

Chevron is great gas, and unfortunately, they don't have stations up here in Michigan. We have the choice between, essentially, a bunch of cheap brands. I don't trust Shell, too bad of a reputation. The only stations I use up here are BP and Mobil, Marathon when I have to.
