Interior lighting question for 04 RA owners

I noticed that my ashtray, glove box, and the circle surrounding my lighter don't light up at night. I think my 05 RA had lights for all three. Does this sound like a blown fuse? or is this what all 04 models have?

The ashtray and lighter surround do light up, but I do not have glovebox illumination.

Thanks. Is this something simple that I can fix myself? Or do I need to spend hours at the dealer? I might simply wait until something else goes wrong, but I'd like to do it myself if it's a simple fix.

Well, I'd start with fuses. Does your cig lighter work? You might want to check the connections to those two lamps, but you would need to remove the center console which is not too bad of a job.

cig lighter works, but the ring around it doesn't light up. the ashtray also doesn't light up when I open it.

Oh, and do the later models have glovebox lamps? If so, I'd like to get one because it can be a bi*ch to find stuff in the dark (no maplights and the dome light is pretty weak too).

Did you by any chance take out the center console and forget to plug it back in? I know there's a light for those, not sure if they're connected to the cig. lighter though...

Working on it.

EDIT: The ashtray and lighter ring lights get their power from a different circuit than the lighter itself. The lights you're trying to fix get power from the taillight fuse. They do share some connectors and ground with the lighter, though. The connectors they don't share with the lighter are up inside the dash, I don't think they'd be unplugged.

Best bet would be to take out the center console and see what you can find under there. Could be burned out/missing bulbs, or unplugged wiring, or cut wires. Who knows what the previous owner did to it.

Fuse diagram will be in your owner's manual.

if you pull your ashtray out you should see a the bulb toward the bottom near the gear shifter. i think. mine have been out for a while, i'm to lazy to change bulbs, but i can def. see the burnt bulb.

Must be common, I noticed mine don't light up now either, I think it happened over the summer.
