2006 outlander SE w/ 4g69??

My friend is about to pick one up and in the pics it show the same mivec we have, but its AWD?!?!?

will the RRM parts fit this car? because he wants to work on it

Would this mean we can do a AWD conversion?!?!?

The Outlander and Lancer Ralliart have shared engines for a few years.

RRM parts that fit an A/T Ralliart should work fine on the Outlander. Anything that fits either A/T or M/T should work, also. Crank pully, piggyback, SRI, etc..

I suppose an AWD conversion is possible, but prohibitively expensive. While getting the parts would be possible, modifying your floorpan to be able to bolt them up would take a LOT of time, skill , and money. The less of one you have, the more of the others you'll need to spend.

I think I remember Rock mentioning that his wife has an Outlander. If that's the case, he can probably make a turbo kit for it. Everything for the Ralliart turbo kit should work, probably just need to modify the downpipe and intercooler piping, then tune it.

There is a JDM Airtrek Ralliart (Outlander in the USA) that was Turbo AWD no so long ago...there were talks about bringing it to the USA....but like the Evo Wagon it ended in just dreams....

Also AMS has one of the USA Outlanders with a full Evo engine conversion....sweet looking SUV sleeper.....

My wife has an Outlander SE. Same engine, and I suspect that most of the A/T RA mods from RRM would fit.
However, it is geared WAY different than the RA, not to mention heavier and "softer".....it's much more of a cruiser/grocery getter (obviously).

Wow if RRM came out with a turbo that fit the outlander, i would be totally into that. I love how the outlander looks... it just doesnt have enought power compared to the Mazda cx7 and Nissan Mirano.

Thanks for the info.

Whats involved in gearing this car more like ours? Please dont say it cost to much or just get a RA, just tell me how. thanks

And hows the handling compared to the RA since youve driven both?

Compared to the RA, the handling sucks. I drove an Outlander to Florida and back in '05, a round-trip total of about 2500 miles. You can definitely tell the Outlander is heavier, and that the center of gravity is higher.

Overall, I'd have to say I'd rather have the RA Sportback if I needed to have the space. The only plus to the Outlander is the AWD.
