logos vs. clean look
ok here's a silly topic but one i'm curious about....is it cool anymore to adorn your ride with performance stickers?..right after fast&furious came out every joe blow was plastering their '82 hondas on up with tons of performance stickers all over the doors and rear side windows..so what is the trend now?..my RA is currently clean...but on my previous crap ride- chev cavalier- i put tons of stickers i'll admit..but i did have the mods to back it up..regardless, i think it would be cool to just have a small "mivec sohc" behind the front wheels on the ground effects or just before the rear wheels on the ground effects...i saw an RSX that had 'ivec sohc" right before the rear wheels..it looked cool...but i can't find any mivec stickers or ralliart either....so what are other ra owners doing?..i think the trend is to get away from the boy-racer sticker blitz and have clean cars..am i right?..let me know ferchristsake before i put any on and some one calls me a fanboy..lol..and where can i find a mivec or ralliart logo anyway?
a few moths back a guy found a company that did custom emblems and he got a Mivec one made up, looked good. try a search maybe you can dig it up.
When i first got my car i threw a RA banner on the windsheild, later took off the lancer and RA logos on the trunk and once it warms up a little im going to take that RA banner off. Think the clean look gives it more style. a mivec emblem is cool, but dont put on the injen, blitz, NO FEAR, and all that stuff. thats my .02

Like you said Prefontaine, it was a trend, and they fade out. I'm sure in a few years the sticker thing could be in again, but I guess for now, you will be a rice boy for having an Injen sticker on your driver door.
I personally have no problems with vinyls, hell I make a living out of the design and application of them, so I may be a bit biased on the topic. If it is done tastefully, then by all means, put them on. Just know that you are advertising to cops and theives alike. So basically you run the risk of making your car more of a target to cops that think all enthusiasts are racers, and theives that want your shyte. Most people that put on audio stickers, even if they have alarms, are just asking to be messed with, unfortunately. I have a back window banner on my car, and a small sticker on the front bumper underneath the passenger fog light spot. Call it respecting the place I buy my parts from, but the logo is for xtremeinc.ca and I think it looks pretty nice there. It's a basic sponsorship, in the fact that it is free advertisement for them, and they always give me deals on my parts, so I feel it is a respect thing, but tastefully done.
I think so long as you have the parts to back it up and its done right it can look really cool, especially for those in the car show or legit racing scenes
I used to have too many on mine, and they were all related to parts on the car (even though most were stock) but took most off. Just have an evolutionM.net logo on the back and some for Yokohama/Advan tyres.
Nothing looks worse than cars that look like a magazine ad with every performance name you can think of when you clearly know the car has few if any of those parts - like NOS seat covers doesn't count as having NOS therefore NOS decals on the car. Thats just pants.

As someone who makes vinyl logos and stickers, people always expect me to have my car riced out with stuff stuck everywhere when in reality, I have only a few well placed and usually subtle stickers. I only put stickers on glass and chrome. Paint fades so you want to avoid keeping stickers on there for too long.
I think the key is subtle. Some people take it too far. They don't want to be ricey so they remove any and all logos and emblems from their vehicle. While I respect the clean look, some people really go overboard.

one or 2 little ones are alright.
i have a white grenade (the bone one) sticker on the top center of my rear window. my friends tc has a small tien sticker on the driverside rear babywindows or watever u call it.
the huge vinals, i hate those, i think it looks so stupid. clean is way better

It all depends, if you have too many then it just looks stupid.
And people who have stickers on there car for a company that they don't have any parts for, or like someone who loads up there car with HKS stickers when they have a HKS Turbo Timer or something like that.

I prefer clean, but my ride has a small collection of vinyl on the glass, mainly plugging the local Evo/Lancer club, and soon a front or rear banner plugging a local shop I'm getting work done through (PPI).
