Well yes, your intake wasn't filtering the air which can lead to problems if alot of dirt, dust etc get into the engine.

Not sure as to how long before it gets bad but, lets hear others!

It wasn't for too terribly long so it'll be fine. I would pull your intake off and wash it out with soap and water, and also make sure your maf is clean.

Would dirt, dust etc. that would get into the engine get into the oil etc. at all? Should an oil change be done if something like that happens? Or is it all fairly separate?

well your piston rings will keep the dirt along with the oil that lubs them from getting down into the egine but what your main concern should be is the rings and wall being worn out. If you get somthing in your cylinder head it will bounce around and nick the crap out of everything from the wall to the piston and valves. I dont see this happening becuase you would have noticed somthing really bad buy now. Oil change wont do much for you here, unles its close anyways. You dont want to suck anything in your engine becuase it will cause premature wear on everything inside the cylinders ect. You should be fine is nothing serious hasnt happend buy now man.

Well for starters where is the oil coming from.. how often and how much do you notice. Wipe it away 1 day check around the same time the next and compare...

It aint THAT bad, I remember when my RA was new I ran it for like week and a half without the filter cuz I liked the sound. Its dumb, I know.

The only thing worth mentioning AGAIN is to clean yor MAF, which is Sooo sensitive

Do an oil change for sure- I would do two. First I would do an oil change and put a few miles on it, then another to clean out whatever may have gone past the piston rings. You can't be too safe when it comes to risking jacking up your motor!

Everytime I've noticed oil under my car (a few drips) it's because the oil filter is leaking. Usually because it wasn't tightned all the way by the local grease monkees at Jiffy Lube. Speaking of which don't ever go there, those guys are a bunch of idiots.
