Piggyback problem?

I had my piggyback installed for 2 months now, somehow today my battery died so i put in a new battery and my car woulnd't idle right, it would die right after i start it. I pulled out the piggy and now its idleing normal again.. I don't know what happen. Should I try reconnecting the piggy back? I am also thinking about selling the piggy now...lol.. if anyone names a decent price.

sketch? what you mean? When I installed the piggy 2 months ago, it was running a little lean because I havent got time to get a tune for it. I don't think that was the problem though. Now I'm driving without the piggy, I notice that when my piggy was on it ran really lean under 3500 then the boost was when the Mivec kicks in. Any chance the dead battery would affect the piggy? I now have the new battery in so i guess i'll try to hook the piggy again soon and see if it would work.

When my battery died I had a similar problem very rough idle and even it turned off a lot and a lot of holding back had it check and they found nothing then I check the map of the piggy and there was a value of 25.5 that appear out of no where at 500rpms in cell 1.5V right over where the blue cursor is when the car idles... I erase that value and put a 10 wrote the data back to the piggy and bingo no more problems and the idle was back to normal.

My piggy has been installed for a year now and since my battery died a month ago I been having that problem.

Butt it happened again last week... when to dyno I check the map and it was the same value againg plus... from 162whp that it had I did a test run on dyno and the car had 147whp big down it even holds up your car.

I'm calling split second as ''RALLIART329 said'' and let them know what is happening!!!!

PM Rock if you have RRM Piggy.

Always best to speak to them regarding technical issues.

did they have any suggestions? thought since you havent had it long maybe they'd take it under a warranty or at least tell you WTF is wrong....

Good luck to both of you.

A crappy idle is normal after disconnecting the battery. It's not so much a problem with the piggy, as it is that the ECU has been reset. It takes a little time to learn how to run the engine correctly again, your idle should get smoother over time for a day or two. Try hooking up the piggy again and see how it runs now.

If it's still running like crap, hook a laptop up to it and see if your fuel map has the 25.5 value change glitv is talking about.

Is it possible the dead battery mest up the map on the piggy? I wont have to send it to RRM to write it again do I? just wondering because I have not touch the program at all or try to write my own maps...

If you have the R4 software and a serial cable that will hook up to your computer you can put whatever you want on the piggyback.

We are guessing, but it seems possible that the dead battery is what is causing at least one issue with the piggyback. The best thing to do is to pull the map off the piggy and check it out.

I knew that by the way it ran.. When I floor it from 1k rpm, it would seem to go slower than it usually does without the piggyback. But when it reaches 3500 rpm, the piggyback seems to give the car a little more boost than driving without the piggy.

Where can I get that serial cable. The piggy came with the R4 program already but I don't have the cable. I would definitely try out the program if I have the cable.

I am going to try to reconnect the piggy. I hope it works, if it doesn't then i'll contact rrm.

cai and cbe? and you're in cali? you need to go to the dyno, or buy a wideband. You can't tell what the car is doing without doing one of those two things. To say that you can is just setting yourself up for ridicule, so make sure you do your research before drawing conclusions. You don't want to hurt your car, right?

The two things you have done are supposed to go right along with the base tune on the piggyback, hopefully you aren't running lean.
