dry ice?

i was talking to one of my buddy's at work today about my door ding...yeah it pissed me off! had the car since summer of 04 w/o a doording untill last week...but he was saying that you can use something like a blowdryer and heat it up then put dry ice on it for like 5 min. and it will pop it out? anybody ever heard of something like that before?

yea i'v heard of it. on this forum too. it somehow works on the fact that the metal wants to return to its original state to some extent, and so by heating it and cooling it rapidly the metal returns to it's original position. or so its been said. i'v never done it

use a blow dryer and then spray that Duster stuff on it except hold the bottle upside down so it is spraying the liquid on. It will return to shape (hopefully) It is easier than dry ice. There was a video of it somewhere on this site.

wow that vid. was pretty convincing to me! lol i think i'll try that duster stuff first and then if not i'll get some dry ice...thanks for the help!

I've considered that, but I'm worried about the fast temperature change making the paint brittle.
