Unhappy my car got robbed

Yeaaaaaa. So i got a 06 ralliart that i've had for roughly 2 months. I work at a movie theather so i go there to watch a movie. I come out an hour and a half later and find my door handle ripped half way off. I look inside and they completely tore my dashboard up. They got away with my 7" touch screen LCD monitor. I took my car to a body shop and they estimated $2,558.85 in damages. My insurance company approved the estimation, so i only gotta pay the $500 deductable, but still....this sucks.

I'll have pics up in a sec....

Yeah man, when I go watch movies at night, I get worried that someone will rob the car cause its like in an open area.

Does that $500 deductible cover the LCD monitor?

no it doesn't. i got it from a buddy of mine, who lost the receipt. so the only proof i have of the tv is an installation receipt and a box. i don't even want the tv, just a reason for people to rob me.

Was the monitor one of those that tucks away inside a compartment? Did your car look like it had anything worth stealing if you just looked inside while passing by?

Thats what I was going to ask. If it was hidden, maybe its a friend of a friend that you dont know too well? that also happened to someone I know. I hate thieves.

One of the reasons why I'll only take the wifemobile to the movies- Nothing to steal out of her car. Very sorry to hear about your misfortune.

Same here. We take the mini-van. I just had a Python 990 installed for piece of mind. Maybe take some of the insurance money and get a good alarm. Just have the insurance company give you the check and you can get estimates which is usually what I do. Sorry to hear about your ride.
