Battery E-Brake Dash Lights: FYI

Just a little FYI...I'm the queen of having weird s**t happen to my car, and the latest is that both the battery and e-brake lights on the dash came on. I did a lot of testing thinking it was being thrown off maybe by my deck or alarm or something. So after a lot of toying around, I brought it in today to see if there was an alternator issue...sure enough there is...BUT it's with some regulator IN the alternator which apparently is really just a diode that tells the dash lights to turn on or not, and it's effed. At this point it looks as though that little part can't just be replaced, I'm looking at needing to replace the entire alternator in order to get those lights to shut off. To top it off, I bought my car 4 months too early and missed out on the "best warranty in the business" and instead surpassed my warranty by 2 months and 2,000 kms. So just putting this out there incase anyone else runs into this, you'll know you're not the only one. AND if anyone else has run into this, let me know and if you were able to simply replace that diode.

I had only an issue with the E brake light. The E brake light would intermittently come on. When I changed the brake pad on my car, the e brake light never came back on.
