Evo 8/9/Aftermarket Steering compatability with 06 Lancer model

I know I know, it doesn't fit. I did a search and couldn't find the actual reason.

So then what is the actual reason? I'm thinking of getting one and just getting somebody to fab a custom hub... then again I don't know the specs of my steering wheel hub.

Any insight on what the real issue is?

Any way around it? Now that you said OUR hub is the problem that seems to be tougher than I thought...

well the biggest problem that we have is where the wheel screws onto the steering column rod pin thing where the wheel mounts thatpartis fatter and the wheel will not slip onto the Rod i tried installing the evo 8 wheel on my cr and i was S.O.L which really pissed me off so i sold the wheel to ATM sanchez. the only thing that ican think of is probably changing the whole rod (where the wheel mounts) from an 04 or 05 but their might be a hub so that we can mount an aftermarket wheel onto our (06model) RA
