quick question

ok, ive done some searching and came up with nothing useful...i was wondering if there is a brembo break kit for our RA...some of you may ask why, but i want the best for my car and i hear that brembo's ceramic breaks and rotors are probably the best in the world....(thats just what ive heard) so i was wondering if they make it for our cars...
thanks

not to be rude but ur inquiry is silly. do u realize how fast a car has to be to NEED ceramic brakes???? are u also aware that if u want something bad enuff u can pay to have it? unless you are destroying Enzos, McLaren F1's, Porsche Carrera GT's, & things like that on the track, then ur inquiry would have merit.

y don't u do research on IMPROVING the stock braking system u have. u would be amazed at what SS brake lines, pads, rotors, stickier tires, & a lil suspension work will do to help u stop better...

sorry im not an expert mechanic and sorry i dont know everything about cars, but thats why im on this forum is to learn as much as possible about my car and everything that is available...so in order for me to research what i need, i have to know what is available...i understand your not trying to be rude, but in my opinion i think it was a logical question...i tried searching the topic before i posted and all i got was Evo topics, and well seeing as how i dont drive and Evo, those were quite useless to me...so sorry if i made the mistake of bringing up "ceramic break pads"...instead of criticizing, try helping me understand alittle bit more....after all i am a noob ok...humor me a little

Probably the best kit you are going to find for the car without doing major modifications. But this will probably be overkill for you, and basically every other RA owner, seeing as noone really pushes the limits with these cars. Get some new pads, ss lines, and rotors. That will give you more than enough stopping power. Even new pads will make a huge difference.

i rode a mtn bike for 15 yrs until i could buy the right car i wanted. i wanted an evo so i spent years on research following companies that had them already & making a list of parts that they used to be successful. i was researching b4 there were forums to research on!!!

1) decide what the car's intention is.

2) based on ur budget decide what u can do in regards to brakes. for example, to run any kind of "brembo" style caliper, u will need a min. 17" wheel with the right offset to clear the calipers or ur project will fail. big brakes need BIGGER wheels.

3) research to find out what the largest brakes are that u can use with ur stock master cylinder & see if brake companies u like offer upgrades. that means start calling ppl instead of relying on the internet!!

4) shop around. Brembo is 1 company & there are several out there who make quality brakes. here's an example of an aftermarket kit for ur specific car:

The axxis ultimates are a semi aggressive pad and work great with the slotted rotors from RRM. Housedj is right about the brembos. Imo it is over kill for what ours cars can do. Really no need for brembos. RRM do offer a big brake kit which also works way better then stock. Our calipers are great for what our cars can do. I think Rotora has a kit now for us and i believe RRM also sells them. Upgrade calipers, mounting hardware, pads, brake lines, etc....If you have any other questions we will be more then happy to answer them....

there is a plethora of information already available about brake systems, and just because it's about an evo doesn't mean it doesn't apply to other cars. research is your friend. research is not starting a thread before visiting the Tires, Wheels, Brakes & Suspension subforum and searching/reading there.

<------see my avatar? search before posting please. use the advanced search too, it's much easier to find things when you restrict your searches to the areas of this website that are related to your search, such as the above forum. if you find a thread about the brembos, and you will, that doesn't answer all your questions then post one there.

there is no brembo kit for the RA IIRC. aside from SSP's suggestion that Rotora makes a kit(I'm not sure either) your only options are RRM and RPW for a flat out purchase and bolt on; both these kits offer advantages and disadvantages and together would be my next suggestion--->. see the above forum or the DIY forum and search for DIY DSM brakes.

I dont have an RA but I have a spec w/o the Brembo's. I wanted Brembo's but the upgrade was just too costly IMO. So.... I bought some brembo cross-drilled rotors and brembo front pads from tirerack.com. Not exactly a big brake kit but the next best thing!

My question is how the hell do you drive in order to get your pads new, to 10% in 2 weeks... I mean I BEAT on my car and drive a TON but I can barely get pads to do that...

I have the Hawk HPS Plus pads, front/back. Dusty and have a slight warm up but its worth it. Easy install and break in.
