mounted TACH?

anyone ever mounted a tach on their dash to left of steering wheel?..saw a pic just now of some dudes ra with a small one instead of a gauge pod. i had one on my previous car but the dudes who installed it had a hard time and it ended up 1k rpms behind my dash tach...thinking about doing it but afraid i might end up not liking it

maybe you should get a shift light instead of the tach

I don't see the point when the dash tach is accurate and works just fine.

Maybe somone can help, Im not hookin up a tach but i do however need the tach signal wire to splice into for my rpm switch on my nitrous. I know it s the green/white wire, im tryin to find a good place to splice into it, i found a green/white wire running along the driver side door into the kick panel thought that was it spliced into it and nope, nothing... i really rather not remove my instrument cluster to get to the wire, where is our ECU located? maybe that would be easier to acces, but anyways whoever know of a good easy place to access that wire let me know thanks.

(PS not thread jackin' ya cuz ull need to know this info as well to hook up your tach)

I don't see why anyone would think a wire running down the driverside door is a tach cable... but okay, our tach cable is the cable coming off the ECU, You can either tap into it there, or pull out your cluster and tap from behind there. Doing it this way will also allow you to clean up your cables and such.

As for the whole secondary tach.. not sure why you'd want another one... since we at least have one already and its more than accurate for our needs. If you want it in the center then do a evo cluster swap.

yea i guess the way i hold the wheel with my left hand on top it blocks my view of the tach...but no biggie..my experience with the prior tach and what a pain in the *** it was to install will keep me from doing it anyway...thanks for the input...
