Stock air intake question

Hello,

When popping the hood on my 06 Ralliart, on the left hand side of the ralliarts air intake there is a foam piece covering maybe a bit more than half of the intake. Its not stuck in there as to prevent air from flowing, but it deffinitely seems like it would object some airflow when the hood is closed.. seems like mitsu put it there as its glued on.

Question is, should I remove it? Would it increase airflow?
Personally, I dont find the stock air intake to be at a bad spot.

If no one knows what im talking about I can post a picture sometime lol

I know what you mean. Two choices :

1- Put it back with good ''glue'' on it. A little bit of silicone or someting like that.

2- Or throw it in the garbage.

Personnally, when I was using the stock airbox, I choose the second option ... but it's up to you !
It will not make any difference anyway.

Yeah, my stock airbox doesn't have that. Nothing has gone wrong.
